Laura Ellis 

Laura’s work explores the meeting of land, water and sky, the effect of light, and the dynamics of forms in space.  A fourth generation Mount Desert Island summer resident, she often paints coastal Maine images.  Largely a self-taught painter, Laura appreciates the way creating art opens her eyes and quiets her mind, serving as a form of action meditation.  Her time in the studio offers both restoration and inspiration, qualities she hopes to convey to the viewer.  When not in Maine she resides and paints in the foothills of northern New Mexico.  Her work is held in collections across the country and abroad.
